Pleiotrophin, human recombinant
Pleiotrophin, or PTN, is a growth factor that has mitogenic effects on fibroblast, epithelial, and endothelial cells as well as induces neurite outgrowth. PTN is made by many tissues, but predominantly by the tissues of the nervous system during development. PTN shows a high affinity for heparin. Recombinant human PTN is a non-glycosylated protein.
